Glock 27 Barrel Length - I really hate the .40S&W; It's really fast and rolls around on the wrist, doesn't do any of the ballistics that 9mm can't, and is prone to malfunctions, mostly in Glocks. I like the revolver though. It's a great little package and it's an incredible everyday gun, I had to have the G26 but this kit was too good to pass up. In the near future I will be purchasing a 9mm conversion barrel and pistol parts as well as some magazines. Anyway, a surprisingly positive review, despite a few niggles.
So I am now officially a fan of Sub-Compact Glocks; They're so comfortable, I sometimes forget I'm wearing them (I really don't) and I can easily get in and out of the car without having to crush trash or check my gut. The pistol is also comfortable to hold, which is surprising given its small size and short barrel. I was able to shoot relatively well with almost random effort. It does a great job of what it is and is a very stealthy little gun that can effectively take out targets at close range.

My main complaint is that without the extended mag pinky grip, the pistol grip is comically awkward and somewhat ineffective as a practical firearm; Yes, sure, you can make it work, John Wick killing men with pencils, but is it ideal? No. The glock only holds one magazine with the extension, what the heck?! I went out and bought a Pearce Grip mag attachment for the second magazine, which allows me to reload by 2 to the standard weak bullet capacity of the 9, and now I'm happy with the setup. Making magazine changes quickly and efficiently can be difficult due to the pistol's short muzzle. However, with some practice, smoothness will follow.

Shooting the G27 was actually a fun experience when it wasn't malfunctioning. Well, it only stopped four times out of 300 rounds fired, but that's still somewhat high compared to what I'd normally expect from a pistol. I will say that three of those occurred while shooting one-handed, which the .40S&W didn't like very much, in my personal experience; The second was in standard ambidextrous shooting, but towards the end of my range, so maybe my little bird wrist was getting weak from the high caliber round and my wrist was limping, who knows? I have been using Sellier & Bellot 180gr FMJ in all my handgun shooting and it is a solid brand that I have had great experience with in the past. Other than that, shooting the G27 was great! Acceptable groups at different distances, not my best, but still. The standard OEM sights have been great for target acquisition, but I still plan on changing it to tritium sights. I would definitely recommend this pistol for everyday carry, especially in summer or hotter environments where light clothing is used. I think I would definitely change the pistol to 9mm via the conversion barrel; This is a nice feature found on almost any Glock chambered in .40S&W and a 9mm conversion kit is available.
