A selector switch on the side of the slide toggles the pistol between the normal fire mode and the trigger fire mode, which fires both when the trigger is pulled and when the trigger is released.

And... It worked! I'm not going to lie, I was worried about how the pistol would feel, how it would perform, where the gun would be in the reset cycle when the trigger was released and fired again.
Franklin designed the G-S173 so that if you're in binary mode and change your mind after the trigger (ie you don't want to turn it on when you release the trigger), just turn the switch halfway. -Auto, then you can release the trigger without firing another shot.
The G-S173 was more controllable and fun than I expected. That being said, I'm used to holding the trigger backwards during the recoil cycle. The G-S173 requires a full release after each download.
Dan and I were able to drive the gun, keep it in profile, and shoot faster than the GLOCK 17 Gen3. There was a smile.

The only caveat, other than taking extra safety precautions and using these triggers with full knowledge of how they work, is that the trigger must rotate fully forward to operate when firing. There is no need to use a trigger to reset another short distance. At the 2022 SHOT Show, Franklin Armory announced two new products – an updated F17 semi-automatic rifle chambered in .17WSM and a binary trigger replacement for Glock pistols. Let's take a quick look at each of Franklin Armory's new products.
The Franklin Armory G-S173 is a 3rd generation Glock 17 pistol bifold kit that includes a trigger and slide. The latter is equipped with a selector on the left, which allows switching between semi-automatic and binary modes. For those who don't know, the binary trigger allows the ball to fire when the trigger is pulled and released. This device also has the option to depress the trigger and switch from binary to semi-auto if you don't want the circuit to fire when you release the trigger. Then you can release the trigger and the cycle won't land.
The replacement G-S173 has an MSRP of $899. Shipping is estimated to begin in the second quarter of 2022 Other models of Glock pistols have functional binary triggers.
Franklin Armory notes that their F17 series of rifles is the world's first gas piston chambered in .17WSM. These guns have a round dust. The updated guns include an updated Osprey gas defense system that allows for lightweight M-LOK handguards. The two new guns in this series are the F17-X and the F17-L. The main difference between the two is that the F17-X has a 16-inch barrel and forged receiver, while the F17-L has a billet-machined stock and a 20-inch barrel. MSRPs for the Franklin Armory F17 series of assault rifles have not yet been announced.

We took a closer look at the exhibition area and shot the physical day.
It had always been a dream to own one of the Glock when Franklin Armory came out with the binary trigger. Until now, it seemed impossible. Well, the engineers at Franklin Armory did just that. Life finds a way. Glock's binary trigger is called the G-S173.
Franklin Armory will make a Glock binary trigger for the Glock 17, but not a standard trigger. In order for the Glock to have a binary trigger, they made a magic wire to work with the trigger. So when you buy a Glock binary, it comes with a slide and trigger. You must bring your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.
You can see that the Glock binary slide is not the same as the standard Glock 17 OEM. The picture has some cutouts to fix the magic.

Another version is shown below. Not sure if they will cut the optics, still deciding. I hope they do. They are also exploring opportunities to tear it down.
We shot together on Range Day. I found the key to be a little different from what I was used to. But it works. I also shot a close up of the trigger in slow motion to see how it goes in binary mode. There are some interesting things that I learned at high speed about acceleration.

If you look closely at the slow motion images, you can see the trigger restarting in two stages. Move forward towards the gauge and release the striker to throw it to the next round. Then, when the shot completes its cycle, the trigger is returned to its last position and the trigger is reset for the next shot.
Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock binary G-S173 for $899. Some may have sticker shock, but keep in mind that standard binary triggers are around $300 and binary triggers are around $700. This makes the slide just $199 more. You still need to bring the barrel and recoil spring. They are planning to introduce season 2.
